Dan Anderson (born January 25, 1954, Chicago, Illinois) is an American voice actor and freelance writer, he is well known for having played the voice of Dad Asparagus[1] in the computer animated Christian series VeggieTales for Big Idea Productions. In 2007 he left Big Idea after the production of The Wonderful Wizard of Ha's.
Anderson first became involved with VeggieTales in 1993 while living on the North side of Chicago. VeggieTales creator Phil Vischer asked him to be the voice of Dad Asparagus. They had met each other a few years earlier at their church, Park Community Church, in Chicago. Dan had become well known at Park for his writing and performing in comical skits at the church.
Dan Anderson is self employed and works as a free lance writer. He writes scripts, speeches, and other literature for companies to use for videos, trade shows, conferences, and other promotional activities.[2]
He is married to Nancy Conn Anderson since March 8, 1980 and they have three children. They currently live in Gurnee, Illinois.
